COLLABORATION WITH METAL ARTIST, TADEUSZ TORZECKI

The client and artist conceptualized a table with an organic metal sculptural pedestal and the idea to incorporate a vase built in the table top. The problem was what type of material for the table top and what shape to fit in a 5-sided nook in the kitchen/dining area? The client contacted our studio to collaborate with Tadeusz to create a unique table to fit in this difficult area.

A custom 6-sided polygon walnut tabletop was selected to best maximize the seating area. Walnut, with its unique grain, was selected to complement the metal pedestal. A custom stain and oil finish was applied to match the kitchen counters. A tapered edge, rounded by hand, creates elegant lines to the large tabletop and complements the organic pedestal.
