VEGETABLE-TANNED LEATHER FOLDING CHAIR REUPHOLSTERY WITH CUSTOM FEET

This was a complex project to figure out. The original chair had a sling vinyl cover that wrapped around the steel tubular frame as there was no backrest nor seat rest. Because of this, the seat was slung low and it was difficult to get out of the chair; similar to sitting in a sling chair.

We suggested upholstering the chair with a thick saddle leather with a firm, slim foam support for both the backrest and seat. In changing the thickness of the upholstery, we needed to ensure the chair could still fold up, therefore, custom patterns were created. To protect the steel frame and the wood floor, we made custom leather feet. We like this chair very much - clean structure, handsome and functional - and now has a premium look!
